Broken Grids: Variations on a Theme I, II & III
Students will explore creating Broken Grids using a "fence" or "plus" block. We will play with color, value, and scale, to begin building a one of a kind piece. The building blocks can be incorporated into a wall hanging that can be finished in class, or students may choose to continue building into a fuller scale project.

The Fence Quilt
Using both traditional and improvisational piecing techniques, students will explore different ways of using very similar block types to create a variety of interesting layouts. In this workshop, you will get to play with both technique and design and it is very well suited to working with scrap and up-cycled fabrics.

Then try a class that’ll teach you how to piece your own improvisational split log cabin quilt. You don’t need to worry about cutting fabric the right size or sewing perfect seams. Just have fun sewing and leave with a new-found passion and a quilt top!

Improvisational Confetti Quilt Workshop
Is your scrap basket overflowing? Do you have a stash of random fabrics that you have no idea how to incorporate into a quilt? Learn how to make an improvisational confetti quilt and watch your scraps disappear! Don’t have scraps? Don’t worry, fat quarters will also work. We don’t worry about cutting fabric the right size or sewing perfect seams. This class is about having fun and making a quilt that you (and all your friends) will love!

This is a fun and easy class that will teach you how to piece your own “improvisational” basketweave crib or lap size quilt. You don’t need to worry too much about cutting fabric the right size or sewing perfect seams. Just come, have fun, explore color, and leave with your own, unique quilt top.

Slow Stitch Patchwork Shirt

Make a beautiful patchwork shirt even if you’ve never sewn a stitch before! You’ll create a one-of-a-kind patchwork shirt by using an existing piece of clothing and hand stitching techniques to express your own style. Working with fabric scraps, you’ll learn how to build a pieced design directly onto a shirt, stitching each patch into place by hand.
This is a meditative, improvisational process—perfect for those who love visible mending, creative reuse, or simply want to slow down and make something personal.
